Spinning Stories at KMSKA: Where Past Meets Play
As part of KMSKA's grand renovation, the Salon was carefully restored. Once a stage for
young art academy talent, now a space that echoes the museum's rich past and colorful
visitors.
Within this elegant room, two custom-built mutoscopes offer a playful, hands-on encounter.
Turn the crank, peer through the viewer, and watch flipbook-style films come to life. One
reveals key moments from the museum's history; the other highlights charming snapshots of
its guests.
With tactile clicks, nostalgic motion, and a subtle layer of digital tech, this installation bridges
eras; blending old-world mechanics with a modern twist.
