Stad in as was a once-in-a-lifetime public spectacle created to commemorate 100 years since the start of the Great War. On Friday 5 September 2014, thousands gathered on the Grote Markt of Dendermonde to witness the city's history unfold in a powerful open-air performance. Through music, theater, and storytelling, the tragedy and resilience of Dendermonde were brought to life.
Central to the experience was a monumental 3D projection mapped onto the façade of the city hall. This projection transformed the historic building into a living canvas, immersing the audience in scenes of destruction, memory, and hope. With light and motion, the architecture itself became part of the story, allowing the public to see their city in a new way.
The result was an unforgettable evening that honored the past while showcasing the power of art and technology to connect communities through shared memory.
